Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine has been going for more than six months. A large number of Ukrainian citizens have lost their homes.
The Kyiv City State Administration has decided to finance the purchase of about 1,000 apartments in the amount of UAH 2,000,000,000 from the city budget.
This housing will be provided for rent both long-term and with the right to purchase. First of all, the families of our defenders, citizens who have lost their homes as a result of destruction or in territories temporarily occupied by the Russians, as well as Kiev residents in need of better living conditions, will be able to use these apartments.
Within a month, the KSCA should create a procedure for obtaining such housing.
It is not yet known in what condition these apartments will be rented out: with or without finishing. The amount of the repair is taken into account when buying back.
We hope that we will be able to get answers to these questions in the near future.
In addition, we will observe how this housing stock will affect the apartment rental market in Kyiv, whether its availability will lead to price adjustments.
The question of the impact of the future purchase of 1,000 apartments on the value of real estate is also interesting, since the entry of such a large buyer into the market can increase the cost of apartments and lead to speculation.
